Guests submit their name, email, RSVP response, and number of places. Their email includes a random secure cancellation link; using it repeatedly remains safe and capacity is returned only once.

Keep booking state separate from attendee records.
Pending, confirmed, cancelled, and checked-in statuses describe the reservation lifecycle. Separate attendee rows preserve a future-ready model for recurring occurrences, memberships, and credits while all phase-two functionality stays in Free.

Enable bookings on an event
Edit the event, open Bookings and RSVP, and choose whether this event accepts reservations.

Choose capacity and workflow
Set a maximum attendee count or unlimited capacity, then choose whether new reservations start as Confirmed or Pending.

Publish the guest form
Visitors can respond Going or Not Going, enter a name and email, and reserve one or several places without a WordPress account.

Manage and verify reservations
Open Events → Reservations to confirm, cancel, or check in guests. Confirm that emails arrive and that secure cancellation releases capacity only once.
