Series exceptions

Skip or Reschedule One Event Date

Handle holidays, cancellations, and timetable changes without deleting or rebuilding an entire recurring series.

What this resolves

A clearer way to manage this work in WordPress.

  • Skip a single occurrence
  • Move one date and time
  • Preserve the original series
  • Keep public schedules accurate

Plans change

Fix one date without damaging the series.

Holidays, cancellations, and room changes should not force you to rebuild a recurring event. Select the original occurrence and decide whether it should disappear or move.

Clear for visitors

The calendar shows the corrected schedule.

Only the affected date changes. Earlier and later occurrences remain connected to the original series, while visitors immediately see the accurate time in the calendar.

Updated occurrence in the calendar

No duplicate content

Keep the history and context together.

Teachers, locations, descriptions, and links stay attached to the parent event. You solve the scheduling exception without introducing an unrelated replacement post.
