File uploads

Configure, verify, and operate File uploads in the official Drecha plugin manual.

What this feature does

Drecha Forms Free supports single and multiple uploads with allowlists, size limits, MIME inspection, randomized filenames, private storage, executable-file blocking, and authenticated downloads.

Key capabilities

  • Validate the actual file — Extension and detected MIME type must match the configured allowlist. Executable formats are rejected.
  • Keep access private — Uploads are served through permission-checked download handlers rather than public, guessable media URLs.
  • Control resource use — Per-file and form-level limits constrain size and count; orphan cleanup removes abandoned temporary files.

Configure File uploads

  1. Add an upload field. Choose a single-file or multiple-file field in the Free builder.
  2. Set strict limits. Define allowed types, maximum size, and maximum file count where applicable.
  3. Explain the requirement. Use the description and accessible help text to tell visitors what is accepted.
  4. Review files securely. Open submitted files from the permission-checked entry screen.

Verify the result

Open the relevant public page in a private browser window and complete the workflow once. Confirm the saved result in WordPress, test keyboard navigation, and repeat the critical path at a mobile width before sharing it with customers.
