Choose reusable profiles or a one-off venue

Create a Location when the same venue will be used again or needs its own public page. Use an activity's One-off location field for a temporary label that does not need a reusable profile.

Create a Teacher profile for a teacher, instructor, presenter, or host who should be reusable across activities. The WordPress menu uses Teachers, but the profile can represent another public host role through Role or specialism.

Create a location

  1. Open Events & Bookings > Events & Calendar > Locations.
  2. Select Add New.
  3. Enter the public venue name as the title.
  4. Add the Street and number, Building, floor, or room, Postal code, City, State or region, and Country that apply.
  5. Add Phone, Email, Website, and Map URL when they are suitable for this venue record.
  6. Use Accessibility and Parking and public transport for practical arrival information.
  7. Write a Public description.
  8. Optionally set a Featured Image through the standard WordPress editor panel.
  9. Select Publish.

On the public location page, Free displays the stored street, city, and country when available, a View map link when a Map URL exists, the public description, and related published activities.

Create a teacher or host profile

  1. Open Events & Bookings > Events & Calendar > Teachers.
  2. Select Add New.
  3. Enter the person's public name as the title.
  4. Add a Role or specialism, such as Yoga teacher, ceramic artist, or guest speaker.
  5. Optionally add Pronouns, Website, Social profile, and Booking or profile URL.
  6. Add Private email and Private phone only for administration. The plugin does not render these fields on the public profile.
  7. Write the Public biography.
  8. Optionally set a Featured Image as the profile portrait.
  9. Select Publish.

Connect profiles to an activity

  1. Open the activity under All Events.
  2. Under Location and teachers, choose one Saved location.
  3. Leave Saved location set to No saved location and enter a One-off location only when no reusable profile is appropriate.
  4. Under Teachers, select one or more published people.
  5. Select Publish or Update.
  6. Open the public activity and verify its location link and teacher or host cards.

A saved location takes precedence over the one-off label. Public teacher cards can show the profile name, portrait, and role or specialism, and link to the public profile. The profile page can list its related published activities.

Practical example

Create Harbor Studio once as a Location with its address, accessibility notes, transport instructions, and map link. Create Maya as a Teacher with the role Ceramic artist and a public biography. Every workshop at that venue can then select Harbor Studio and Maya without copying their details into each activity.

Free and Pro profile differences

Free includes the reusable location and teacher records, their core fields, a standard Featured Image, activity relationships, and public profile pages.

With active Pro access, the editors present an integrated photo selector, add latitude and longitude to locations, and support configured custom fields for locations and teachers. Pro reads the existing Free profiles rather than making copies. Deactivating Pro leaves the profiles and their stored data intact.

Troubleshoot profiles

A profile is missing from the activity editor

Confirm that the Location or Teacher profile is Published. Draft profiles are not included in the selectors.

The one-off location does not appear

Check whether a Saved location is selected. The saved profile is used when both values exist.

A private email or phone is not public

That is intentional. Teacher Private email and Private phone are administrative fields. Put only appropriate public contact details in the public biography or approved public links.

A profile image is missing

In Free, use the standard Featured Image panel on the Location or Teacher editor. In Pro, use the integrated photo control. Then update the profile and clear any image cache.
